Archaeology in the Gardens

-

Callaway Discovery Center (orientation meeting) Earlier this year, archaeologists working in a remote part of the Gardens discovered several previously unknown archaeological sites. Come hike into this beautiful area with local archaeologists as your guides and discover the collapsed ruins of old farm houses from the 1800’s. This new hike will take a previously unexplored route through a forest with 100 year old trees and babbling brooks. This easy, one mile hike is suitable for ages 12 and older. Please wear sturdy walking shoes and bring drinking water and insect repellant. Meet at the Discovery Center at 9:30 AM. We will return to the Center by 12:30 PM.
