For the more adventuresome spirit, try an overnight trip for an experience under the stars
you won't forget. A rugged two-hour ride takes guests to the campsite where either you or
the stables can provide the food.
Saddle up for a taste of old-fashioned horseback riding, just three miles from Callaway.
Roosevelt Stables' various trails wind their way through the picturesque F.D. Roosevelt State Park,
including beautiful Pine Mountain.
There are a number of excursions to chose from and beginners are more than welcome.
If you're looking for an afternoon of fun, try the one-hour Creek Trail ride, which follows a
creek along the base of the mountain and is great for children. Or the Overlook Trail ride,
which lasts about two hours and takes riders to the top of Pine Mountain to view the lake and
valley below. Or our new Mountain Lake Trail that goes around beautiful Lake Franklin. This trail provides the most opportunity to see our wildlife in the park. This ride takes about 2 hours. Bring your sense of direction if you choose to ride the Cowboy Trail, which
ventures all over the mountain and away from the standard trails.
